tesco's

image | tesco pontypool front doors
whilst looking for some other tesco memorabilia! i stumbled across the of the bbc strange views tesco is responsible for the regeneration of this town Then of course, a sight that cannot fail to impress all who arrive in the borough, the newly built Tesco arising above the town with better and cheaper shopping for all who enter the store. a little off the wall for tescos, a company who has not been unable to build a new store due to financial muscle for the past couple of years.
so is tesco part of the solution?
i think what is more likely is a return to more consumer led (ie smaller) shops which reflect individual purchasing power rather than proctor and gamble type advertising and purchasing will return, albeit after the monopolies commision get involved in the supermarket industry.
if you squint at the picture above the banner above the doors reads making you spend more everyday!
