Stonehenge and back

in a couple of hours....
all courtesy of English Heritage free days out they finish today but have been running for the last couple of days.
i like the stones in strange kinda way, i mean nobody really knows what they did or do lots of theory but not a lot of fact.
i took alex along for the ride and we played the usual i'm bored routine without having to resort to the vicars cat... we arrived and duly paid our £2 parking fee recieved a reciept and were told to hand it in at the office (i know i said it was free!) so we parked, alex moaned that we did not take the rucksack (i'm starving) and walked to the ticket office (thinking it is free it is free...) i handed over my ticket and got my £2 back! looking good :)
the tour (self contained in a little tour wand with a loudspeaker with lots of languages that fits almost snugly into your ear) is not time limited and you can spend all day there it takes around 35 minutes to walk around listening to the tour with music and a small selection of sound effects coming out of the speaker. the tour is split up into 7 small areas and as you walk around each part has its own viewpoint of the stones with a semi detailed explanation of what who and how it was made.
the tour is informative and is well worth the entrance price!
