City Hall, Belfast

The trip to City Hall Belfast was an interesting one, following the showers and shopping of the morning. the morning had proved fruitful with Kerry managing to buy a dress for a forthcoming wedding in June and Alex also buying a dress and matching leggings.
the breakfast was a small affair with freshly squeezed orange juice and a latte from here with a couple of breakfast rolls alongside. interestingly a couple next door who were also having breakfast were twins eating the same order - as each other and also wearing very similar hair styles and clothes.
back to the tour - City Hall is in a cordoned off but approachable square very clean with lots of nice benches. after we read the sign the guided tour is at 2pm and 3pm so we ensured that we were there in time at 1.55 after a couple of minutes the gates swing open and we (around 18 of us) are told that they are full? come back for the next one at 2.45! hmmm how did they all get in and past us, lots of those waiting did not come back for the tour. Lynne was our guide and she was very efficient in a school teacher way - please come and gather on the carpet, come along now squeeze in etc... she was very knowledgeable and it is well worth taking (if you can get in!) the City Hall has been around for just over one century being completed in 1906 and it still has the centinery exhibition downstairs.
