Radio 1 reschedules

I am a fan of radio, I like the detachment of it. it draws you in with music or words but then you get out of the car, van or room without giving it a second thought?
Could you do the same with TV or moving image? I don't think so.
I listen to Radio 1 the most with smatterings of Radio 4 and 6 coming a closely run second. I like the chat, its drop in drop out on number 1 with a longer driving time needed for 4, how could you miss Mr Bragg when discussing hot topics of our times.
So Radio 1 has updated the schedule in time for the 40th ~Anniversary, well just after the actual date. A few changes surprised me but then that's what it is supposed to do.
I like the fact that Chris Moyles gets cut off at the moment - its refreshing that one of the more highly paid presenters (DJ only applies to a few of Radio 1's hosts) has to stop when he has really got into his stride, maybe this will help him along the way.
Reggie and Ferns move makes more sense for them (not us) as they both lead busy lives outside of the radio and have rarely been together since starting.
Rob Da Bank gets more credit (less than he deserves) for being one of the few people Colin Murray is one of the others) who can inject as much enthusiasm into John Peel's shoes and I am glad he is gaining another full time show.
Nihal also jumps up into the mainstream after being a filler in for numerous others (I never listened to his pairing with Bobby Friction when its on)
Annie Mac also moves into the real world with an earlier slot on the Sunday.
Greg James seems to be the real winner with a full time post.
I will not miss JK or Joel but I am sure my daughter will still see them on CBBC.
I do listen to other stations almost as much as Radio 1 but it is the preferred choice of my daughters, who get to choose when they are in the car.
I look forward to the changes and hope that I can catch up with murray / da bank in the future.
