vista sp1 woes
So i am running windows, much to Scott's bemusement, I don't need to run windows - i only need a single program to run on windows and that's Sage.
So why have i not brought got a mac yet? well that's cos I am scared!
Scared I hear you cry?
Well I have had a personal computer of some sorts since the sinclair spectrum through the relative heights of a bbc master, atari st, amiga 500, 600, a2500 (still in the loft) several intels from the p66 which cost a pretty packet to today's dell 9200 with lots of memory, a big screen and a nice mouse. I have never had a mac and that probably just pc blindness. Scott loves his mac, he likes the way it works, he likes the way it installs the programs, he likes the way it handles video (he has a lot) and pictures (i have a lot!) I do not use the pc for anything but office and sage, i do like photos and I think that after trying my vista pc with its updates built in (it falls over on the same update each time it tries to do it once has re downloaded it/them.
so it makes me a little more wary when someone like chris pirillo who has a blog posts on the update for vista - sp1 and what happens when he tried to update.
perhaps i should replace the latop with a macbook with parallels or fusion and try it that way?

No your talking... Do the right thing... Go Mac !
LOL
In the last few months I have seen several friends, my mom and sister go Mac and my Dads brother go Vista... I don't need to tell you who I have spent the most time with sorting out getting them going...
Kate ( sister ) 15 minutes
Mom - same
Tim - Couple of hours but that was all showing him the difference between apps and transferring mountains of photos
Ian ( Vista PC ) - Hours and hours fiddling with printer drivers, setting up webcam ( which had to use XP drivers for ! ), the pile of anti spyware, malware filters and other junk that is Norton Suite... Etc
