Glastonbury 2008 feat, Jay-Z but no metal pegs...
Glastonbury is here once again, filling my life with more joy and anticipation, oh and an amount of fear as I work around my normal all consuming day job whilst attending the festival.
I listened to the reminders on the radio today about registration (from today until midnight GMT on the 14th March direct link) and wondered once again (i have been itching to speak to Fiona from that farm since the 14th January!) about my ticket. I work for the festival in the recycling team and Fiona looks after that team. So pretty much all day the radio was banging on about this and that with the festival and i buckled - i rang it went to BT's answering machine, hmmm that was new I never had that before, it was always Fiona's message. Scary. Stop panicking, idle thoughts rushing in and out of my brain - has she left? Was the number right? What do I do?
The sensible thing of course I ring back :) tada! there she is answering the phone and letting me know that my form has already been posted and will be there by tomorrow's post.
I finish work with a smile and return home to find it already there for me. Off to the post office for some more gorgeous passport photos, application form, £160 cheque enclosed and posted! The ticket will be £155 + £5 postage but it will be worth it.
Jay-Z is the first headliner confirmed already by Mr Eavis and the metal tent peg is to be left behind for the cows sake, the new ones are biodegradable and will just disappear into the soil when left behind (as too many were)
need a link for more information?
The BBC and Glastonbury Festivals have always had a good relationship here is the special Glastonbury Section online BBC/Glastonbury
Here is a intermittent Glastonbury Newsletter that is worth signing up for, Flash Bristow's site
The best (in my view) forum is here at virtualfestivals
Good luck to those in the hunt for the tickets
