I have written before about Floola, I use this for my ipod's now that my Rio Karma has died.
Version 5.0 has been released and fixes include;

I have just paid the balance on Kerry's ticket via seetickets I rang them on the 1159 934 183 number and they confirmed that apart from the reserved tickets they had sold out!
A small number will be up for resale when they have counted how many people have not paid the balance after paying the deposit of £50 and forfeiting the chance for the greatest festival in the world!

After searching for the x-factor results after the sky+ box crashed whilst recording we are not amused, i pointed laura to digitalspy which has some of the fastest forums for tv around.
She found the answser and i looked at the site after she had finished, the spywire (a quick newsfeed) read Winehouse wants to meet Eoghan I did misread it completely but it made me chortle.

ssssh! G1 is coming

For those of us in the UK the Google backed Android G1 phone will be released on Thursday.
I have a t-mobile phone at the moment just for data and will be converting this to another account if I like it when I can actually see it in the flesh!
The reviews are glowing on the whole with the open source operating system allowing all manner of programs just like the iphone although without the apple limitations!

xbmc Atlantis beta 2 released...

Visit xbmc for the latest version, the first beta version one worked well on my dell, with it running in windowed mode it means I could have it running in the background on the second monitor.

Ever since I added an ipod to my list of gadgets (it took a long time as I preferred my rio karma and even the creative MuVo²) I have wrestled with itunes it just doesn't do want I want it to do!
So I use floola instead and everytime an update comes out for itunes floola gets an update too. With it currently at 3.6 it supports every ipod out along with that motorola phone that worked with itunes. floola allows me to do pretty much everything I want, I can add podcasts, single mp3's and audiobooks. photo support along with flac conversion oh and it supports last.fm!
so why the post about itunes? well the last time I installed it I ended up with safari and if I installed the latest version I would end up with 4 apple apps that I dont need. so a post on lifehacker made me look again, they had linked to a zdnet blog which had tips on how to exclude the extras no mention of safari this time around though. It is all a little too complicated for me so I will leave it and play with floola instead!

Fish n Chips

We ate out on Saturday, at Rick Stein's fish n chippy at Padstow, not The Seafood Restaurant but the harbour side takeaway.
Service was a little iffy and the fish although battered nicely was not the best I have tasted, Kerry and I did think that the chips were nice though.
We also had a pot of garlic mayo which was served in a small polystyrene pot this coupled with the plastic cutlery reflected poorly on rest of the chip shop industry who use standard wooden forks.
These are the ones he should be using!

Overall a thumbs down from me.

I did a little bit of searching today, I was looking for a couple of music downloads after spotting after picture of Siouxsie (home page) in the NME
Laura is in this week's mag (page 3) so I had to buy it then read it, she is in Europe for three week's. Buy the mag for the picture or leave a comment for a scan.
So there I was stumbling around and I also went looking for some other members sites, Steven Severin had been updated this morning with a little piece of personal news about a new photo portfolio he has released with candid photos signed (but out of my price band @£100) with Robert Smith from the Banshees tour in 1983 which was EXACTLY the time period I had been looking for! The portfolio is called Japanese Whispers 'Robert in Tokyo 1983' all pics are available to view in his myspace above is a preview.
The other interesting item was the amount of downloadable radio sets out there - no links from me, google them i want them to survive! I grabbed a handful of shows this afternoon that will go onto the ipod in short rotation. My radio in my work van is not the best and driving is a somewhat solitary job so you need something good to listen to. Groups must hate myspace, when you visit the sites of these individuals you can see the effort and hopefully the input that the artists have put into them when you visit myspace it goes a little crazy!
The downloads - yes I got them from 7digital
